How APL Works

ENGINES:

APL's most important benefit is its ability to eliminate dry starts. This is the number one cause of wear in an otherwise well maintained engine. APL leaves a film of lubrication on the inside of the engine (i.e. rings & cylinder walls) which will not run off after you shut your engine off, this reduces wear which can be confirmed with an oil analysis. The Parts Per Million of metal content will be reduced. APL stays on engine parts for up to 7 months!

APL helps to reduce oil thinning at operating temperatures. Confirmed by higher oil pressure.

APL reduces oil consumption and keeps oil cleaner by sealing the compression ring with a film of oil, thereby helping to stop oil from entering the combustion chamber. This keeps burning gases and contaminants from being blown into the oil pan. Confirmed by level on the dipstick and its cleaner color.

APL in winter does not make an engine harder to turn over. APL remains on the cylinder walls for 7 months. A film of APL on the inside of the engine can reduce the amount of amps needed to turn the engine over. An amp-draw test will confirm this.

IN GEARBOXES AND DIFFERENTIALS:

APL reduces noise and wear in Differentials, Power Dividers, Transmissions, and Wheel hubs. Listening and observing the temperature gauge confirm this. The climbing action of APL is particularly useful in power dividers. In extremely cold climates, APL can be used up to 100 % in these applications, as APL has a pour point well below gear oil, -12° F. 25% to 100% is recommended for all climates.

LEAKS:

APL should reduce or stop leaky seals or gaskets in 3 - 7 days, if it does not, the seals or gaskets are worn out or cracked or the sealing surface needs rebuilding (i.e. Hubs). Repair and clean seal area, watch for new leak.

IF WATER OR CONTAMINATION OCCUR:

APL mixes with water and/or antifreeze up to 30% by volume. A milky looking oil will result that will guard against total loss of lubrication in the case of a blown seal or gasket, until the oil can be changed. Change Oil, and repair leak immediately. To see for yourself, mix 3-parts 10-30 motor oil with 1-part APL and 1-part water in a clear glass container. The water will stay in suspension for months. Put some of the mix on your finger and you will see it's still slippery (lubricates).
